Ellicott Square Buiilding
The Ellicott Square building was the largest office building in the world when completed in 1896. It was erectedon the site that Joseph Ellicott saved for himself when he laid out the plans for New Amsterdam ( now the city of Buffalo in 1797). The title to the property was retained by his heirs for almost 100 years and was subsequently named Ellicott Square.
